Episode Transcript

Makena: Hello, everyone. Welcome back to Way of the Muse. I’m Makena Sage, and Gigi and I just got back from New York about a day and a half ago. It was an amazing, amazing week. We had such a fabulous time.

For those of you who don’t know or didn’t listen to last week’s episode, we were there for a few days leading a small group intensive, like a mini retreat, for our platinum-level clients in our mastermind program, Wealthy World Changers.

It was so great to gather in one of my favorite cities in the world. Gigi and I used to live there, and I haven’t been back in years. I just love the energy of New York. I wouldn’t say that I would live there again, but I love going and touching into that energy for a little while.

It was cold but not too cold. We got really lucky with the weather. The class itself was just super powerful. We got to go really deep with the women who attended. All of them have worked with us for multiple years now, and some for many, many years.

The level of coaching we were able to get to–really deep seeing and masterminding with each woman–was profound.

So, I’m coming back very refreshed. I’ve been hearing the same thing from some of the other ladies.

Unfortunately, Gigi came back a little under the weather, so the episode we had planned for this week is going to wait until next week.

But I have a really great topic.

I was actually looking back as we started planning our fall retreat. We have a women’s retreat coming up in Germany in September. This is our annual seven-day women’s retreat.

This year, the theme is The Art of Letting Go: Discover the Path to Effortless Success.

As we were starting to plan that, we looked back at surveys from the women who attended last year’s retreat, which took place in Sonoma, California, in wine country.

I was reading about what the women really said they took away from the event–what they would tell other women about it. Something that stood out to me was what one of the women said: learning how to work smarter, not harder.

And I thought, “Well, that’s a great podcast episode, right?”

How do we support women to work smarter, not harder?

If you’re an entrepreneur, which many of our clients are, some of this will also apply if you are in corporate or have a job. But certainly, if you are in business for yourself or want to start a business for yourself, then how do you do that and grow and become even more successful without just pushing harder and working more?

Believe me, I have had quite a journey with this myself.

Working harder was pretty much my paradigm for most of my life. It took years to really unwind that and learn a different approach. A lot of that was my mentorship with Gigi–how she really supported and guided me to learn a different way.

There’s been this process of unwinding old beliefs, like the idea that you have to work harder to be more successful. Unwinding certain patterns and ways of being. And then really learning new ways and new tools.

That’s what I want to talk about today–to give you some practical tools, as well as stories from my own life and from some of our clients’ lives and businesses, to illustrate how you can do this. How you can work smarter, not harder.

Because it’s easy to say that line, and it sounds really great. But what does that actually look like in reality?

I’ll tell you one thing. There is a stage in life, business, or career where you do need to learn the lesson of how to work hard. And I don’t mean things have to be hard work in air quotes, but learning how to really put in the effort, be determined, set your mind to something, and go for it.

That is a big piece of success in this world.

I do believe in mindset. I do believe in energetics and manifestation. But I also believe we need to back that up with action.

So, if you’ve really played more in the realms of energy and manifestation, and you haven’t yet learned to buckle down and put your energy and intent behind something, then you might not yet be at the stage of working smarter, not harder.

There might be a time first when you need to put in the work. And I think any highly successful businessperson will tell you that and would agree with me. I know our clients definitely echo this.

Take a moment to check in with yourself.

Is that true for you?

Are you someone who has really put in the effort? Have you gone for things in your life? Have you followed through?

Or are you at a point where you feel like you’ve hit a wall?

Maybe you’re burning out, or you just can’t keep going this way.

If that’s the case, then we can really have this conversation. Because you’ve built that muscle–the determination, the intent, the action muscle.

You know how to get out there, go for things, and follow that up with aligned actions. But now you’re seeing that what got you here won’t get you where you want to go.

Because maybe you can’t work any harder than you already have.

That was literally the point I got to–where I finally woke up one day and thought, “It is not physically possible for me to work harder than I’ve worked. So what gives?”

How am I going to grow beyond this point when I can’t possibly work any harder?

But that had been my paradigm. That had been what I had done up to that point. And that was what I knew worked.

So, for a while, I banged my head against the metaphorical wall, thinking, “I’ll just try harder.”

But it would just spiral me into exhaustion and burnout, which then took me out. I couldn’t really focus on working and pushing harder.

That’s when I really started to think, “Okay, something isn’t quite lining up here. There’s got to be another way.”

And I think that’s where a lot of women are when they come to work with us.

They’re thinking, “There’s got to be another way.”

There’s something more that they’re longing for. They know they want more success, but they also know they want it to feel different.

They can’t keep going just the way they’ve been going. Even if a lot in their life is working, they’re still thinking, “There’s something more that I desire here.”

More fulfillment. More freedom. More fun.

And they want more success too, but they just can’t see how.

“How would I even get there?”

Because they’re operating–like I was–out of a certain paradigm, out of a certain way of being that got them to where they are. And it worked well for a time.

But it’s like being inside the box, where the instructions for getting out are written on the outside.

And they’re looking around, thinking, “Why is this working for other people, and I can’t seem to figure it out?”

So, if this sounds like you, then you’re in the right place, listening to this episode.

And if it sounds like someone you know, then think about that person and share this episode with them.

Because we’re going to go through some really powerful content today–perspective shifts and ways you can begin to break out of that box and really see what’s written on the outside.

See the instructions that are pointing the way to where you really want to go.

I’ve been through this process myself. We’ve coached many, many, many people through this process.

And now it’s your turn.

Let’s begin with the belief:  I have to work hard to be successful.

Because this is really where it started for me. Somewhere along the line, I picked up this idea that you have to work hard in order to be successful.

Now again, it wasn’t a bad idea. In fact, I think it really served me. Because if I hadn’t had that belief and I had just gone the other direction and said, “Well, I don’t want to work hard,” I would have struggled in a very different way.

So, I’m grateful that this was a stage in my development. I’m grateful that I was willing to get in there and apply myself.

I did that in school. Many people don’t, and that’s fine. But I applied myself in my career when I got out of university. I went for it. I hustled. I tried things. I wasn’t much of a risk taker, but I was still really determined. I wanted to be successful.

That belief served me for a time. But there came a time when it didn’t serve me anymore because, again, I could not work any harder than I was already working.

It was so ingrained in me that it was really hard to unpack this belief.

I could do a whole podcast episode on just this topic alone.

But what I will say for today is that I think shifting that belief really started with opening up to the idea that maybe it wasn’t true.

Not that you don’t have to work hard to be successful, but maybe working harder wasn’t actually the fastest or most effective path to get me to where I wanted to go–to more success, yes, in terms of finances and freedom, but also to more fulfillment.

At that stage, the success I really wanted was fulfillment.

I wanted to feel more lit up by the work I was doing. I wanted to go to sleep at the end of the day and feel like, “Yeah, I’m on track. I’m living out what I came here to do.”

And at that time, in my previous career, I didn’t feel that way. I felt like, “I’m good at what I do. It’s fine. It’s great.” But it wasn’t soul-fulfilling. It wasn’t what I really wanted to be dedicating my life to, for lack of a better way of putting it.

So, in this process, I began opening up to the idea: What if there’s another way?

What if working harder isn’t actually the way?

I wasn’t thinking in terms of “working smarter,” but I was thinking, “Something’s got to give.”

There are other people out there who love what they do. Who are making good money at it. Who are fulfilled. Who are not burned out. Who have a lot of time freedom.

And I wanted that.

So, I was willing to challenge this belief. I was willing to get curious and ask, What do those people know that I don’t? What are they doing differently?

There was a willingness and, honestly, almost a desperation at that stage because I was just thinking, “I cannot keep going this way.”

This was when I was having–those of you who know my story–daily panic attacks. So much anxiety. So many things going on. I was really up against that wall.

And this was also the time when Gigi stepped in.

My mom. My mentor. The co-host of this podcast.

She really saw where I was. And as a coach for decades, she couldn’t sit by any longer. Even though she tried as my mother to give me space, she really intervened in my life in the best possible way.

You’ll have those moments in life where a mentor comes in, or somebody steps in and really helps alter the course of your life.

And you might choose that person–you might go out and find a coach or a mentor–or they might choose you.

I was just on a call with one of our clients, helping her outline her book, and there were pivotal people in her life that she really saw and thought, Oh, these people changed the trajectory of my life.

They really stepped in during these moments when she needed someone. And she didn’t even know she needed them, but they influenced her. They supported her. They guided her.

And that was really what happened with Gigi–my mom–who, of course, had been guiding and supporting me my whole life.

But in this key, pivotal part of my life, she really stepped in.

The reason I share that–again, because I know I’ve talked about this many times–is because she really helped me through so much of this process for myself.

And that’s what allowed me to then go and help others with it.

The first piece we worked on was really looking at what I wanted.

What did I really want?

So often, what we see happen is that successful women–and that’s primarily who we work with–they’re going, going, going in their lives, building their careers. And yes, there might have been some aspect of going for what they want.

But a lot of times, they’re just following a certain path that was laid out for them or that they thought made the most sense.

Rarely have they really stopped to think about–or actually, not even think, because thinking comes from the mind. Many of them have tried to think about this, but they’re struggling.

Rarely have they really stopped to step outside of their life and ask:

What do I want?

If I could have it all my way, what kind of life would I be living?

What would I be doing for work?

What would my lifestyle be?

Who would I be surrounded with?

Would I be in a relationship?

Would I have a family?

If I could wave a magic wand, what kind of life would I want?

Even if they’ve asked themselves these questions before, sometimes it’s really hard to get clear on these things for yourself.

I had asked myself many of these questions before. I had even hired coaches to try to support me before.

But I just could not get clear.

And I will say that that is one of my mom’s geniuses–and now mine, I would say, as well.

It is the core of the work that we do. It’s called The Aliveness Method.

If you go back and listen to past episodes of ours on following your aliveness and your curiosity–maybe we can link some of those in the show notes–or on getting clear on what you really want, this is what we really help people do.

We act as a sounding board–not influencing in any way–but really asking the deeper questions.

Watching as they talk.

Reflecting back.

Noticing where we see them really light up.

And guiding them through this approach that we have to coaching.

People have these lightbulb moments where it’s like, “Oh my God.”

Because deep down, we all know what we really want.

But we feel like maybe we can’t have it. Or we don’t think it’s possible. Or it’s not practical. Or somebody–there are all kinds of reasons that we hide it, even from ourselves.

So, apart from opening up to shifting your belief that maybe you don’t need to actually work harder than you already have to get to where you want to go, the next piece is getting really clear on what you actually want.

Because that becomes the fuel. That becomes the driving energy.

The excitement.

The inspiration that pulls you forward to create in the world.

And that is such a different way to create success than just pushing, efforting, and working harder.

When you’re coming from that place where it’s pulling you and you’re alive and excited–maybe not every moment of every day, but that deeper current of excitement is there–that is such a different place to create from.

So, that is really the next step: Get clear on what you really want.

And it may be along the lines of what you’ve thought you wanted.

Or it may be something very different.

When you see it, it’s like the lights turn on. Fire.

I love seeing these moments for people.

And it might come in glimpses and get clearer over time.

It doesn’t always come in one fell swoop.

In fact, I would say it never does.

Some aspects may come through very clearly.

But this is an ongoing, lifelong evolutionary process.

You’re going to keep getting clearer and clearer.

And you’re going to keep experiencing more and more of what you do want–if you’re pursuing it.

And then, more will open up that you desire.

So, this is an ongoing journey.

But it’s such a powerful journey to be on.

Versus just taking action, working hard day in and day out, and then suddenly looking up and asking, Why am I even doing this?

Is this really what I want?

Is this why I came to this planet?

Is this what I was put on this earth to do?

This kind of journey that I’ve been on–and that many of our clients go through–it’s stepping onto the path of self-actualization.

Actualizing what your self and your soul came here to do.

That’s a big, grandiose statement.

But it really is.

That has been my journey–getting clearer and clearer and more and more refined.

Part of this is about then taking kind of this thousand-foot view.

First of all, your desire.

And then when we see what people really want, then we go, Okay, how do we help you get there?

And let’s say that somebody really wants to double their business, and, you know, that’s only one piece of the puzzle. Usually, it’s not that that, on its own, is what lights somebody up.

But maybe they really have a dream of traveling.

You know, one of our clients that I’m thinking of, when she first came to us, she was totally burned out, having anxiety attacks, struggling in her marriage. I mean, you name it.

And she really saw she wanted to grow her business.

And part of why she wanted to do that was she had kind of been coasting for a long time around the same level.

She wanted more financial freedom.

She wanted to travel more. That was a big piece for her.

And she had a lot of, like, mission- or purpose-driven projects she wanted to incorporate into what she did.

And creating more income would allow her to do that.

So again, there was a bigger context for growing her business.

And then once we knew that and we saw, Okay, there’s energy, there’s lights here, now we have kind of the game or the desire.

Then we had to take this sort of thousand-foot view on where was she at, where did she want to go, what were the–again, we’ve talked about this on the podcast before–kind of energy leaks or the things that were draining her energy and time and attention, getting in her way in that sense, and then what were the opportunities.

You know, where was there low-hanging fruit?

And this is where we go from the more energetic and, what would you say, desire side of the coaching that we do to the more strategic part.

But it starts with the desire first.

And what most coaches do, I will say in my experience–and this is why when I was trying to get clear before, I couldn’t, even though I hired different coaches–is they jump straight to the strategy.

You come to them, and you say, I want to be more successful. I want to work smarter, not harder. I want to grow my business, let’s say.

And they say, Great! Let’s strategize how you can do that. Let’s get clear on the steps. Let’s have you get into action.

But if the desire is not there, if the bigger picture, dream, vision isn’t pulling you forward and fully aligned for you, then there’s not going to be a lot of energy behind the steps.

So, we look at the steps and that’s secondary. That comes next.

And we do that in such a way to, again, see what are the aligned actions for you to take.

So, for that client I was talking about before, she wanted to double her business, and she ended up doing that.

In one to two years–I think about two years–she doubled her business from about the six-figure level to nearly, she was close to six figures, and then she did close to multiple six figures within a couple of years.

She grew very quickly.

But not only that–everything else I talked about changed.

The anxiety attacks went away.

Her marriage improved.

Her relationship with her kids improved.

She’s traveled.

She’s, you know, got more support in her business.

She’s working, I think, a third of the hours she was working before.

So, huge changes in just a couple of years.

And she’s still working with us to this day. She’s one of the women that was with us in New York last week.

So, in that, how did we accomplish that?

How did she start to work smarter, not harder?

Because before, she was just working tons of hours and totally stressed.

Well, we did that by taking this thousand-foot view, by, you know, mapping it all out and looking at where was she, where did she want to go, where were the opportunities, where were the low-hanging fruit.

Having her start there.

And then cleaning up those energy leaks, cleaning up the things that were drains on her attention, energy, etc.

Some of those were interpersonal conflicts.

Some of those were, you know, ways that she wasn’t taking care of herself.

Some of those were limiting beliefs that we had to really work through to allow her to keep moving forward and expanding beyond anything she’d done before.

So, this is a multi-faceted process.

Working smarter, not harder isn’t something that just happens overnight, and it’s not something that I could just tell you one little thing you do, and that’s going to–boop–handle it.

So, but in that, it is this, again, sort of evolution over time, and it speeds up over time.

So, the more you get clear on what you want…

The more you clean up those energy leaks…

The more you focus on–this is what I would say is really the next step for those of you listening–focusing on what really moves the needle.

So much of the time, the reason people are working harder and not smarter is because they’re doing a lot of things that don’t actually get them results.

Womp, womp.

I really want you to look at this.

Ask yourself:

Out of all the actions I take in a typical week, how many of those are really moving the needle?

Like, getting me results?

Let’s say you are an entrepreneur.

If you’re building a business, you need clients, right?

That’s the result that you need in order to sustain your business.

And, of course, to do a great service and continue on with what you do.

But everything organizes around–you have to have paying clients.

So, what are the things, the actions that you take, that actually get you paying clients?

And are most of the things that you’re doing getting you that result?

Or are you just kind of throwing spaghetti at the wall, trying a whole lot of stuff that’s not actually moving the needle or not working that well?

Or are you distracted by a whole lot of other things that have nothing to do with your business–or at least nothing to do with getting new clients?

And this is what I see again and again and again.

We get so busy. We get so distracted.

And believe me, I did this so much in the early days because, for me, it really showed up in the form of–I’m, I would say, a recovering perfectionist.

And I’m someone that loves to have everything organized, check everything off my list.

And the reality of being an entrepreneur, especially a successful entrepreneur, is that’s just not going to happen.

Everything is not going to be checked off the list because everything is not that important.

And in fact, checking off everything on the list can become a distraction from what really matters and what really moves the needle.

So, this was one of my big lessons early on that Gigi taught me.

She told me, You can’t just work on all these things if they’re not actually getting you out in front of people–promoting your program, getting you in conversations, taking the right kinds of actions that move the business forward.

If it’s not that, then it can wait.

That’s what she really taught me–flipping this ratio on its head.

I just shared about this in my Focus and Flow class I led in January.

We talk about the 80/20 rule, which you might have heard before–Pareto’s Principle.

I can’t remember the exact way it’s phrased, but the way I use it is that probably 20% of what you do gets you 80% of your results.

So, what if you increase that number from 20%?

What if you spent more time doing the things that really get you results?

What would change in your business?

And as a result of that, in your life?

Really shifting your approach and asking yourself:

What are the things–the actions–that move the needle?

For most people, these are not things like social media posts, unless you’re really effective at that and you know how to turn that into business.

It’s not things like checking and responding to emails, unless those are emails with potential clients.

It’s not doing admin work.

It’s not doing things around the house.

The list of what it is not is much, much longer than the list of what it really is.

The kinds of things that do move the needle–it just depends on the person and the business.

But it could be getting out there and talking to potential clients.

Having coffee dates with people.

Calls with people you haven’t talked to in a while.

Getting visible in different ways.

So yes, it could be social media, but again, that’s a pretty indirect path for most people.

It might be something like speaking, getting on podcasts, going to networking events.

It really just depends.

But these are all things that more directly move your business forward–getting you talking to potential clients, getting more visibility, making real connections.

So really thinking about, in terms of working smarter, not harder, it’s about eliminating the distractions–or at least doing them last.

Have the first half of your day, or at least the first hour of your day, be really focused on what’s going to get you results and move things forward.

If you do this, your business will change.

And it does take some time.

When I led that class, we had clients on there who have used our approach, learned from us, and built very successful businesses.

Some of them shared that they were very consistent with these kinds of activities–really focusing on what moves the needle–for at least an hour per weekday, but sometimes multiple hours per day, for at least about 90 days before things really started to move.

And it was right around that 90-day mark.

Imagine–you’re a month in.

You’ve been taking action, putting yourself out there.

And it’s still crickets.

You’re not getting any clients.

Alright, two months in.

Still going. Losing some steam, but still going.

But starting to doubt.

Is this going to work?

Do I have what it takes?

That’s when the brain kicks in.

That’s why having a coach is super helpful–or a program, or something that helps you stay accountable.

But just think–how must that have felt for them?

To be two months in, two and a half months in, and be like, I don’t even know if this is going to work.

Right?

But in these cases, these are women who had trust in me, in us, in this approach.

They had intuitively felt called to us, or had worked with us before, and they said, We’re just going to keep going. Makena said 90 days. We’re going to keep going.

And they went for it. And they went for it. And they went for it.

And right about the 90-day mark–huge breakthroughs.

One of the women, just in December, went through our My Simplified Business Bootcamp program.

And right at the 90-day mark, she went from no sales to enrolling two clients in one day–each for her $8,000 coaching package.

So that’s $16,000 in one day.

And within another week, she had enrolled another client–$24,000 in a week.

Now, people might look at that and go, Oh my God, she has so much momentum!

But what they don’t see are those 90 days of consistent action that led up to that moment.

And this is huge.

Because there is a piece of this that isn’t about hard work but is about putting in the time.

It is about staying consistent with something.

But only if it’s the right thing.

Only if you’re taking the actions that are actually moving you in the direction you want to go.

Only if those actions are the things that really move the needle.

And you’re not just doing a bunch of busywork that’s not actually going to get you results.

There are a couple of last pieces I do want to talk about.

One is that sometimes we need to dig deeper into what is holding you back.

What’s holding you back from working smarter, not harder? From, you know, whatever it is you need to do to make that shift?

Maybe it’s hiring some support.

Maybe it’s getting clear on that vision.

What’s getting in the way?

Sometimes this is the energy leaks or different things like that.

But a lot of times, there are also patterns that we have that don’t serve us–or limiting beliefs that are getting in our way.

So, an example of a pattern might be–for me, it was perfectionism.

Perfectionism was a pattern. And that was stopping me.

That was keeping me playing small, keeping me stuck, or slowing my growth because I couldn’t break out of, Everything has to be perfect. I have to get it all done.

Until I had an outside coach and mentor who helped me break free of that and go for what really mattered.

And I’m so thankful because once I learned that–of course, perfectionism pops in from time to time–but really, I’ve overcome that as a pattern in my life.

So, that’s an example of a pattern.

Maybe you have a pattern of procrastination.

Maybe you have a pattern of chaos in your life–there’s always something pulling your attention, distracting you, and you can never seem to move forward.

If that’s happening again and again and again, then it’s a pattern.

And that means, usually, that there’s something in you. It’s not just something happening outside of you.

If a pattern shows up again and again and again, then who is the common denominator?

So, that’s really important to look at. And sometimes it’s difficult to look at. It can feel a little embarrassing or a little whatever.

But the truth is, we don’t judge you. Nobody else needs to know. This is really for you to see for yourself. Because when we see, then we can break free.

And it may take some time. It may take some support. But this is huge.

Sometimes, it’s just a matter of you not being able to see it on your own or not being able to get clear on your own.

That’s why women hire us and work with us. That’s why we hire other coaches and support each other.

Because we need that sounding board sometimes. We need that outside perspective.

Because we’re sitting there, in our own lives, looking around, and we’re going,I don’t know. Either: “I don’t know what it is I really want.”

Or: “I don’t know what my energy leaks or blind spots are.”

Or: “I don’t know what my pattern is.”

Or even: “I know my pattern, but I don’t know how to break through it.”

Any of these things.

This is why I love the coaching we do in general. I love coaching. I love hiring coaches myself.

But I also love our retreats because having the opportunity to get in a room for whatever length of time–in the case of our fall retreat, it’s seven days, eight nights–I mean, really stepping out of your life, stepping out of your day-to-day.

Taking this time to relax, unwind.

A lot of the women that come and work with us–they haven’t relaxed in that way in a long time, if not years, right? If this is their first retreat with us.

There’s something so powerful about that.

Because going on vacation isn’t the same.

We organize the environment, the processes, the way that you connect with yourself, the way that you connect with other women, the coaching–every aspect is curated and designed to support you in having this unwinding process.

In coming to more clarity. In seeing things that you haven’t seen before. In learning new skills. In seeing what you want.

And then going back into your life in a completely different place, a completely different energy.

So, I just have to put that plug in there because I’m just coming off of a retreat, and I just see the turning points these are for these women.

And I’ve experienced this for myself.

And how, if we look at their progression over the years–these women that have worked with us and come to many retreats all over the world with us–they can point to each retreat and say,

“This was the breakthrough I had at that one.”

“This was the shift I made at that one.”

“This is the thing I changed at that one.”

And, of course, they can do that with our sessions and everything in between as well.

But really, these are these pivotal opportunities where we get to go so deep–and have a lot of fun too, right?

It’s not hard work. It’s fun.

There are challenging moments, and things come up, but so much of it is just this incredible, expansive journey.

And it’s a tax write-off!

We get to write it off if you’re in business for yourself.

You get to come, learn, experience, grow.

So, if you are curious about that, I just had to mention it because our fall retreat is coming up in September.

Like I said, it’s in the foothills of the Bavarian Alps in Germany. A beautiful time of year there.

And we have an early bird special going on right now until March 15th, 2025, where if you sign up–there are payment plans, and there’s a pay-in-full option–if you sign up by March 15th, then you actually get a bonus coaching session with me.

That’s a $1,000 value–a full hour where we get to dive in together and use that for anything you want now, in the next couple of months.

So, you don’t have to wait for September, right?

You can go ahead and start getting support and getting that outside perspective.

Anything you want–personal or professional–I’m there to really support you with that.

So, I did want to mention that.

If you’re curious at all, you can go to wayofthemuse.com/germany.

That’s wayofthemuse.com/germany.

So, I think that’s most of what I wanted to share today.

I know it’s a lot to take in, but I really couldn’t see how to share on this topic without going through many different lenses because it is–it’s like unlearning an old way and learning a new way of operating.

Working smarter, not harder.

You get to unwind some patterns, beliefs, and things that don’t serve you.

And you get to learn–learn how to get clear on what you want, keep getting clearer on that, and go for it.

And what else?

Focusing on what really moves the needle.

So, all of this is really pivotal.

And it will really take you to that next level, not just in terms of success, but also in terms of fulfillment.

And then, of course, the amount of time you’re working–because a lot of times, when women say, “I want to work smarter, not harder,” it’s a time thing.

They’re busy. They’re tired.

And from the time that I was first going through all of that, I was probably working–let’s see–at least three times as much as I work now.

And the same thing with that client I talked about before–she was working three times as many hours as she’s working now.

She’s more than doubled her business.

I’ve much more than doubled my business–tripled, quadrupled. I don’t even know where I am. Probably more than that–5X, 6X’d my business.

Some of the other women that I’m thinking of, that were with us this weekend–similar stories.

So, it’s not about working more hours.

It’s actually about being able to work less over time.

And there’s more to that in terms of getting support, building a team, and everything else.

But this–this is the foundation.

This is really where it begins.

So, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

You can always email us at support@wayofthemuse.com.

And again, if there’s a person in your life–could be male, female, woman, man, any gender–but especially if there’s a woman in your life that you’re thinking of as you’re listening to this episode, and you’re just thinking, “Man, she needs this.”

“I see her working so hard, hustling, trying to break through to that next level.”

Or maybe she is breaking through, but she’s exhausted.

If there’s someone you’re thinking of right now who’s on your heart to share this with, I would be so honored if you would.

That’s the way this podcast gets to reach more people, touch more lives, change more lives.

So, please, please, please–take a moment right after you finish this episode.

If you’re on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, whatever platform you’re listening on–just go click the share button.

There’s usually a little “copy link” or “share” option.

And send this to one, two, three, five women in your life who could really use it.

It’s been an honor to be here.

Hopefully, Gigi will be feeling fully recovered, and she’ll be back with us next week.

And we will see you then.

Bye!
